Waterproofing Done

So today the waterproofing of the basement was completed. Tomorrow the plumber will come and lay the pipes that will be covered by the concrete floor.

Floor Plan

For all the inquiring minds. Here is the floor plan of our new house. This is a ranch and the open staircase in the plan leads to a basement that we hope to finish in the coming year. It will have a family/TV room, game room, office and a guest bedroom.
For now the plan is for Lilly and Ella to share the front bedroom and the room behind the garage will be the nursery since it is the smallest and closest to the master.

Basement Walls!

Ahead of schedule. They got all the forms up and got them filled all in one day. We weren't expecting that. Not sure how long before they take the forms off, could be tomorrow or Wednesday. We are now struggling to pick flooring, cabinets, countertops and trim; but we have plenty of time. I think it might be better if we didn't have so many choices. More pictures to come in the next few days!

So In just three short days, our house is a hole. But not just any hole a hole with concrete footers. As long as the rain doesn't slow us down we should be seeing the basement walls poured by Wednesday. Stay Tune for all you day to day coverage.

Our next big move

This is our future. In about 3 months our new house will be standing in this spot. We have decided after being burnt in our last house deal, that we were done with old houses and all their problems. So..we're going with new construction. The subdivision is called Whispering Meadows and we have the largest lot. Our new address will be 132 Abby Ln. We will be updating this site frequently with construction news and photos. Ground breaking is tomorrow March 4th, so check back often so you don't miss anything.

Better Late Than Never

Ok so it is going to be 5 months between posts I guess. No one reads this anyway, so I guess it really doesn't matter. :-) Well...it's almost March. We have 6 weeks left to go before baby #3 arrives. We have been through some crazy last few months in regards to finding a new house. We almost had a signed deal but upon inspection, found out that the roof needed to be replaced immediately and the sellers weren't willing to pay for it, so we walked away. We are looking into building in a blossoming new subdivision. This could get very exciting in the near future.
As for everything else...we had a pretty uneventful winter. We got a lot of snow and had record cold temps but we came through fairly well. Sicknesses were minimal, which is amazing considering the stuff that was going around. There is still snow on the ground but I think the spring rains have started and it's going to start warming up soon. Yay for warm weather!
